Ross, tested the alternator at 2,000 rpm. It reads 12.46 Volts with lights off and 12.14 volts with lights on. According to a workshop manual I have on an earlier model Falcon that uses the same engine the charging rate should be 13.6 volts at 2,000 rpm so definitely I have a charging problem.
Bosch Alternator wiringLooking for help with Bosch alternator wiring on EA, EB, EB (and maybe later) 85A alternators. These alterators are also fitted to Magnas and have a different reguator setup than earlier Falcon (XF) jobs. They have 3 wires One is for battery so that is easy. Help with alternator wiringThis is an XE-XF Falcon alternator. The small round terminal fed the auto choke heater element and can be used as a tacho output in the Rangie. I suspect the person who fitted the alternator originally didn't know this and added the white wire as well. Disregard both if not being used in a Landy.
