I have a 1960s Silvertone model 1457, but there appears to be something wrong with the electrics. These guitars were wired with the pickups in series. Switch "up" gives me just the bridge pup correctly, "middle" gives me both pups, also correct I think, but switch "down" gives me the same as switch "middle" instead of just the neck pup.

It also has the copper foil faraday box to shield it. Here is my question. Can someone please explain this wiring and how it works, signal path and what the two caps do.

Silvertone wiring help!I bought this old silvertone a while ago, and I'm trying to get it to work properly. The switches don't really work, the hum is pretty strong, and the tone pot doesn't seem to do much. Help with Silvertone 1449/1457 amp layoutI'm thinking about building a Silvertone 1449/1457 amp (head format). I prefer circuit board layout to point-to-point wiring so I want to do it with a circuit board. Trouble is, there is no circuit board layout that I have been able to find so I did it myself.
